AI and Professional Reliance Notice

This notice summarises clause 7 of the Terms of Service. It applies to everything FloatSight shows or produces.

What FloatSight does

FloatSight reads the programme files and documents you upload and turns them into views, checks, warnings, reports and answers. Most results come from deterministic rules applied to the data extracted from your files. The Programme Assistant can also use an artificial intelligence model (provided by Anthropic) to answer open questions about your programme. Results produced by rules and results produced by the AI model are labelled as such where they appear.

What its outputs are not

FloatSight's outputs are decision support. They are not legal, contractual, planning, engineering, quantity surveying, health and safety or other professional advice, and they are not a substitute for the judgement of a competent person who has read the contract and the source documents.

In particular:

  • Extraction can be wrong. Data read from PDF documents is never marked as verified and must be reviewed. Errors or omissions in the source files carry through to the results.
  • AI answers can be wrong. An AI model can misread a question, miss relevant information or state something incorrect with confidence.
  • Contract checks are not legal interpretation. NEC, JCT and FIDIC checks, period calculations, time-bar warnings and draft notices or letters are based on the published standard forms and the dates you enter. They do not account for amendments, Z clauses, special conditions, case law or the facts of your project unless you have entered them.
  • No guarantee of completeness. The absence of a warning does not mean there is no risk, delay, change or deadline.

Your responsibility

You remain responsible for checking every output against the source documents and your contract, for all decisions, notices, claims and submissions you make, for meeting every contractual time limit, and for taking professional advice where appropriate. FloatSight never sends notices or communications to anyone on your behalf.

Your data and AI

We do not use your data to train AI models, and our AI provider's commercial terms do not allow it to train on the content we send. Questions that FloatSight can answer with its own rules are not sent to the AI provider. See the Privacy Notice.
